Exterior Painting in Raleigh & the Sandhills

Siding, trim, doors and porches washed, primed and painted to hold up to North Carolina sun, humidity and pollen — in Raleigh and all around it.

North Carolina is not gentle on the outside of a house. Hot, humid summers give way to a spring pollen season that coats every wall in yellow, and a paint job that was not washed and primed properly starts to peel within a few seasons instead of holding up the way it should. Exterior painting is a different job than painting a room — the surface has been sitting outside taking on sun, rain and pollen, and it has to be cleaned and prepped before any color goes on, not just repainted over whatever is already there. Siding, trim, doors and porches all wear differently depending on which side of the house catches the afternoon sun and which side stays shaded and damp, so the same house can need very different prep from wall to wall.

Alexis covers Raleigh, Aberdeen and anywhere within an hour and a half of either, and every exterior job starts with a photo of the house by WhatsApp so he can see the siding, the trim and how the current paint is holding up before he gives a no-obligation quote. Plants, walkways and anything near the house get protected before the work starts, and ladders or scaffolding go up wherever the roofline or a tall gable makes a wall hard to reach safely. English-speaking customers can write in English — the page you're reading works in both languages.

What's included

Exterior work starts with a wash, not a brush. Siding, trim, doors and porches get washed down to clear off pollen, dirt and mildew that would otherwise sit under the new paint and cause it to fail early. Once the surface is dry, any peeling, cracked or chipped paint gets scraped and sanded back to a sound edge so the new coat has something solid to hold onto. Bare wood and any repaired spots get spot-primed before the color goes on, and gaps around trim, doors and window frames get caulked so water cannot get behind the paint. Vinyl and fiber-cement siding get the same wash and inspection as painted wood siding, since dirt and mildew build up on any surface left outside. Siding gets coated first, then trim, doors and porches get finished to match, and any tall gable or roofline that needs a ladder or scaffolding gets the same careful cutting-in as the areas at ground level. Plants, walkways, light fixtures and anything else near the house stay covered for the whole job, not just while the paint is wet.

How we work

Alexis looks at the exterior and the surrounding area, then gives a no-obligation quote by WhatsApp at (472) 234-2975.

Washing and painting

The house gets washed and prepped first, then siding, trim, doors and porches get primed and painted.

Walk through

Once the paint is dry, Alexis walks the outside of the house with you to check the coverage and the lines.

Exterior Painting by city

A new build in Raleigh, a repaint in Cary, a patched wall in Durham and a weathered exterior in Fayetteville each need a different plan — and we handle all of them.

Common questions

Does the house need to be washed before it gets painted?
Yes. Pollen, dirt and mildew sit on top of the old paint, and washing it off first is what keeps the new coat from failing early.
How does the paint hold up to the pollen and humidity here?
The surface gets washed, primed where it is bare, and caulked at the gaps before the color goes on, which is what lets it hold up to sun, humidity and pollen season after season.
